Martin Matthews is a suffragent! Repeats Emily Davison’s 1913 protest.

Martin Matthews, dressed as Father Christmas, ran in front of Kicking King, the horse that went on to win the King George VI Chase at Epsom racecourse.  Martin, a Fathers 4 Justice member was arrested but later released without charge.

This is similar to Emily Davison, who in 1913, died when she stepped in front of the King’s horse as a protest for women’s suffrage.  It is said the public disregarded the act as that of a crazed woman. Martin Matthews is being ignored as a drunk or an idiot by the newspapers.

8 Sandringham Santa's Threatened with Guns & Alsatians

Fathers 4 Justice is describing as 'disturbing' the threatened use of guns and Alsatian dogs on peaceful activists by what they describe as 'MI5 types' in the grounds of St Mary Magdalene's Church on the Sandringham Estate after the group tried to scale the building.

A Fathers 4 Justice protester climbed a gantry early Sunday morning in Reading (England). Two lanes of Southampton Road, Reading were blocked off causing a traffic holdup near The Oracle shopping centre.  Fire and rescue used a cherry picker to get the protester down a couple of hours later.  The protester, Richard O’Connor was arrested and later release. He is being charged with public nuisance, which is denied.
