Women who are trapped inside a man's body (or men who want their whatits cut off, if you prefer) aren't being allowed to compete with women in sport because they might beat the little darlings....
From Athletes Excluded from Gender Laws
Athletes are to be excluded from new laws which will allow transsexuals to legally recognise their new genders, it was announced tonight. So when women aren't paid as much as men in sports events if could be because they can't run as fast or play tennis or football as well as men. If that wasn't the case surely they would let these men, who are really women inside, compete with them.Under the Gender Recognition Bill, published two months ago, transsexuals will be able get new birth certificates even if they still have their original genitals, provided they are diagnosed as suffering from “gender dysphoria”.
Now the Bill is to be amended so UK sporting bodies can continue to decide case-by-case whether individual transsexuals should be allowed to compete.
It follows discussions between the Government, UK Sport and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Constitutional affairs minister Lord Filkin said: “This amendment is designed to ensure sporting bodies can uphold safe and fair competition.
“In the same way as a sporting body is perfectly entitled to exclude a person taking performance-enhancing drugs, for reasons of competitive parity, they would be entitled to exclude a male-to-female transsexual person if competitive parity or the safety of other competitors was at stake.
“Sporting bodies already deal with the issues raised by the participation of transsexual sportspeople, and this Bill will not affect the flexibility that sporting bodies have.”About the same time as fathers have been fighting for a change in the law and they're still waiting.Sports minister Richard Caborn said: “This is the best move for UK sports governing bodies – it will enable them to act in line with the approach taken by international sports governing bodies.”
Transsexual campaigners have been fighting for a change in the law for 33 years.
However they could still face rape charges. From Legal Woman 'Could Face Rape Charge'
Legislation to give legal recognition to transsexuals could in theory result in a woman who was born male being charged and convicted of rape, the Government said tonight.Actually I thought it was. Even with the changes in the law, I thought women could not be charged with rape. I understood the new law to mean both sexes could be charged with sexual offences but penetration by a penis (possible for some of these legally women) was required to be charged with rape, which can carry a life sentence.Junior constitutional affairs minister Lord Filkin told Tory ex-Cabinet minister Lord Tebbit: “A transsexual person who has been legally recognised as a woman by law in the UK under gender recognition legislation could be charged with, and found guilty of the rape of, another female person.”
The Gender Recognition Bill is awaiting its report stage in the Lords. Lord Filkin noted too that, under recent changes to the sexual offences laws in England and Wales, rape was no longer a gender-specific crime.
Lord Filkin told Lord Tebbit in a separate written reply that 364 people had had a sex-change operation on the NHS in the past five years. There were no equivalent data for private or overseas operations. They sued to get their 'rights' to the operation from the underfunded NHS, which I help pay for. Whilst some are happier being a 'woman', some are not. Somebody ought to ask some serious questions about it, but they won't in these PC times.
No doubt they'll be suing soon if they aren't be hired for striptease.
